Computer Adoption Program

NTR reserves the right to make case-by-case judgments in determining who will receive equipment. However, in an effort to maintain fairness, the following guidelines, application and participation process will be used under all but the most unusual circumstances.

1. Target groups for hardware placement

  1. Nonprofit organizations designated as 501 (c) 3 by the Internal Revenue Service.
  2. Public or private schools serving low income students.
  3. Community service organizations serving a low-income community.

2. Region of service

Placements will only be made to groups in the Philadelphia Region.

3. Individuals & Businesses

Requests from individuals or businesses will not be accepted. However, organizations receiving hardware from NTR may place hardware with individuals or businesses under agreed upon circumstances (especially our Learning Through Technology program).

4. Paper work and Fees

  1. An NTR "Organizational Data Sheet" must be completed with mission and service information.
  2. Proof of nonprofit status must be provided: the Internal Revenue Service’s 501(c)3 letter.
  3. Program participants will be required to attend a four (4) hour orientation and training session on hardware setup and installation.
  4. A list of names of class participants is needed prior to the distribution class.
  5. Fees for this program will be as follows:
    • Each participating organization will be charged a one-time $50 registration fee.
    • Fees for each computer will be set according to the "Learning Through Technology" LTT Hardware Price List (see the price list for details on what is included in each computer.)
    • A sliding scale discount will reduce the LTT computer prices as follows:
      • Groups with budgets under $250,000 ..... 10%
      • Groups with budgets under $100,000 ..... 20%
      • Groups with budgets under $50,000 ....... 40%

    All fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to the class. 

All systems will INCLUDE a VGA monitor, mouse and a keyboard.

6. Client Learning Opportunities

Clients of nonprofit organizations may be served under NTR’s Learning Through Technology program.
