Landmarks
Nonprofit Technology Resources is located just North of Center City Philadelphia on Brandywine Street. Brandywine is the first small street north of Spring Garden Street. Both Brandywine and Spring Garden are east/west streets. For automobiles, Brandywine is one-way to the west. NTR is on the 1500 block between 15th Street and 16th Streets. One may enter Brandywine by car from Broad Street (which takes the place of 14th Street in Philadelphia) or from 15th Street.
Auto
If you are arriving by car, NTR has its own parking lot adjacent
to the building. The entrance to the parking lot is between our red
brick building and the yellow masonry wall near the end of our block.
Once parked, walk back to Brandywine Street and ring our door
bell.
If you are driving into town via I-76, use I-676 (signs will also mention Center City or Vine Street). Take the Broad Street exit. There is a traffic light at the top of the ramp. You are now facing East on Vine Street . Proceed to the next traffic light and make a left turn onto Broad Street. Proceed north on Broad Street past Spring Garden Street (the next large street.) Brandywine is the next little street. Make a left turn from Broad Street onto Brandywine Street with caution, because you will be using the turn lane for the oncoming traffic.
If you are taking I-95 or the Ben Franklin Bridge, follow the signs for center city via I-676. Exit I-676 at Broad Street. You will find yourself on 15th Street at Vine, heading South. Make a left turn onto the local traffic lanes of Vine Street.
Greyhound or Trailways Bus
The bus terminal at 10th and Filbert Streets is within walking
distance (about a mile) from our site. A taxi cab ride will cost
about $5.00.
Amtrak Train
You may want to take a taxi from Philadelphias Amtrak
Station at 30th and Market Streets. But youll save money by
using the Market Street Subway. The taxi ride might cost as much as
five dollars. The subway is $2.00. Board the subway across 30th
Street from the train station. Ask someone to point out the entrance.
You want to catch the eastbound train and just ride for one stop to
15th Street. See the next item for further directions.
Market-Frankford Subway
From the 15th Street subway stop, find your bearings by noting
that City Hall is East of you. You cant miss City Hall... it
took Calders Grandfather nearly thirty years to create the
sculpture and decorations on it. William Penn, founder of the State
stands on the top of City Hall tower. From the subway stop you want
walk to the north side of City Hall and walk north five long blocks
along Broad Street or along 15th Street. Instead of
walking, you can take the Broad Street Subway line to Spring Garden
Street. Or you can take the "C" bus along Broad Street.
Philadelphia Airport
The easiest way from the airport to a hotel is by limo. Cabs cost
a flat $20. There are busses, but theyre not a good option for
coming into town. There is an Airport train that you can take to
Suburban Station. Suburban Station is located at 16th and JFK Blvd.
Look for City Hall to your East, then follow the directions above for
coming to NTR from the Subway.
